November 29, 2017KUALA LUMPUR (29 November, 2017): The iconic adidas Predator boot range makes a comeback after 12 years with the release of the adidas Predator 18 which was introduced at an exclusive launching event at Football Republic, KLCC today.
The Predator range of football boots was a huge success for adidas ever since it was first unveiled in 1994 and over a period of 21 years spawned 18 different models. Not surprisingly, it became the first choice for legendary footballers like David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane and Steven Gerrard to name a few.
In conjunction with the ‘Skystalker’ pack release, the new Predator 18 was unveiled by adidas Malaysia football creators namely Izham Tarmizi, Afiq Fazail, and Badhri Radzi (Piya).
adidas faithfuls including Khairul Helmi, Nurridzuan Abu Hassan, creators Roen Cian and Raf Yaakob were also present with members of the media and Football Republic’s contest winners to witness the return of the Predator series which focuses on vision and precision on the pitch.
Guests were presented with an in-depth look at the Predator’s history and introduced to the inspiration, tech-specs and specialisation of the latest model. To further promote master control, there were football freestylers on site to showcase impressive ball control, techniques and skills using the indoor version of the Predator 18.
Football Republic’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vach Pillutla said: “It is an honor for us to host the re-launch of one of the most popular and iconic football boot collections of all time. The return of the adidas Predator is definitely a milestone in world football for players and fans alike.”
Football Republic is an official retailer of premium adidas football products which caters to football enthusiasts at every level.
Head of Marketing for adidas Malaysia, David Wong who was also at the launch, paid homage to the history of the Predator and also to Football Republic for promoting the sport by providing a one-stop retail solution for all football fans.
He said: “The adidas Predator is a huge part of our brand and football in general as it took centre-stage during the golden generation of the sport in the 90s. Many footballing legends started and ended their careers wearing the Predator boot and with this re-launch, we are looking forward to the next generation of footballers to write their own history.”

The Predator 18+ features a black, red and gold colourway and includes an updated Primeknit SOCKFIT COLLAR, engineered to naturally expand to accommodate the foot’s shape while ensuring a supportive fit. The PURECUT LACELESS system ensures maximum surface control while a FORGED KNIT integrated midfoot support structure creates medial and lateral stability to support complex movements.
The second coming of the Predator will be worn on-pitch by the likes of Paul Pogba, Dele Alli, Ivan Rakitic and Mesut Ozil. It is available at Football Republic and all adidas stores nationwide.
