ShekhinahPR, in collaboration with the Penang State Hindu Endowment Board, generously donated 200 footballs along with football gear to 28 Tamil National-Type Schools throughout Penang during a special event today.
The event was officiated by the Vice Chairman of the Penang Hindu Endowment Board, YB Senator Dr. Lingeshwaran R. Arunasalam, together with the Chief Executive Officer of ShekhinahPR, Christopher Raj, and witnessed by the former Chief Minister of Penang, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bagan and State Assemblyman for Air Putih, YB Lim Guan Eng.
Also in attendance were the Chairman of the Penang Hindu Endowment Board, YB Sanisvara Nethaji Rayer Rajaji; Vice Chairman of the Penang Hindu Endowment Board, YB Kumaran Krishnan; and the General Manager of Penang FC, who is also a Board Member of the Malaysian Football League, Jeffery Chew.
Christopher Raj emphasised that this initiative is aimed at nurturing football development at the grassroots and school levels in Penang, while inspiring local students to chase their dreams in football.
“As a proud native of Penang, I hope this contribution of footballs and equipment will serve as a spark for the growth of young talents in the state.

In a significant initiative to boost grassroots football, ShekhinahPR, in collaboration with the Penang State Hindu Endowment Board, donates footballs and equipment to 28 Tamil schools across Penang. The donation aims to foster young talents and promote football development at the school level, as part of ShekhinahPR’s ongoing commitment to supporting sports in the community.
“ShekhinahPR remains deeply committed to supporting sports development, particularly football in Penang. We will continue to collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that every local talent is provided with the best opportunities and platforms to excel,” he stated.
Christopher also expressed his hope that the donation will ignite a passion for football among young players, helping them realise their dreams of becoming state-level and, ultimately, national players, elevating Malaysia’s presence on the international stage.
