SPORTSFIX goes big with cricket

SPORTSFIX, the new ASEAN Telco-OTT (Over-The-Top) live streaming sports platform has acquired the rights to broadcast Bangladesh Cricket Home Series matches.

The first big Home Series for Bangladesh is a Test Series against Australia, the first tour of the current No 3 ranked team to Bangladesh since 2006. The visitors are prepared for a hot wicket at the end of Bangladesh’s hot summer month. The First Test was schedule for August 27 while the Second Test kicked off on September 4.

“Sportsfix is combining content that no one is catering to right now, and we’re catering to it via the mobile phone, which is the device of the future,” said Luer.

The OTT platform will also stream live matches from Liga 1 Indonesia, Chinese Super League (CSL)), Thai Premier League, Korean football league K League Classic, Philippine Basketball League, Bangladesh Cricket and a range of mixed martial arts (MMA) leagues from around the world.

Luer added that Sportsfix is lining up a whole bunch of niche content – much like Netflix and iflix of sports – to cater to fans spread around the ASEAN region, whether a foreign worker or expat.

“If you’re a Japanese, German or Korean expat living in this part of the world, there’s a high chance that a lot of your country’s sports content is not available out here. Or if you are local or studied abroad, you would be exposed to sports from that part of the world,” Luer explained.
