“We certainly welcome more opportunities to bring in more international football matches and football fans in Malacca can look forward to supporting our future stars who will be donning the senior team jersey in future. The Nations Cup is a great opportunity for Malacca to showcase the city and we look forward to hosting our friends from other countries,” said Datuk Mohd Yusoff.
FAM General Secretary Dato’ Hamidin Mohd Amin, said: “We thank the city and Malacca FA for their support in hosting the Nations Cup 2016. The tournament will raise the profile of Malaysian football while moving forward with our strategic plan to boost the quality of football leading up to next year’s SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.”
