CHELSEA VS JDT FC

Chelsea's return to Malaysia after 13 years for a pre-season friendly against Malaysian champions Johor Darul Ta'zim.

Premier League club Chelsea returned to Malaysia for the first time since 2013 to face Malaysia Super League champions Johor Darul Ta'zim in a pre-season friendly at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, Iskandar Puteri, on August 9, 2026. The fixture was the final stop of Chelsea's summer tour, which had taken in Sydney, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

It was also Chelsea's first match in Malaysia staged outside Kuala Lumpur. The Blues had played in the country several times between 2003 and 2013.

The match ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw. JDT struck first through Arif Aiman, and Chelsea replied with two Liam Delap penalties. The hosts went back in front before a late own goal levelled the score.
