WALK WITH AL-SULTAN ABDULLAH: KING OF SPORTS
November 5, 2025
In an era when childhood once meant skinned knees, open fields and the easy music of neighbourhood laughter, The Parenthood was born from a simple wish: to bring that same joy back, safely, conveniently, and meaningfully, for the modern family.
This evening, that wish felt wonderfully real. His Royal Highness The Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah and Her Royal Highness The Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah binti Almarhum Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj officiated The Parenthood’s A Decade of Joy celebration at the flagship London-themed playground in Sunway Pyramid. What began with a simple idea, every child deserves the right to play, became a celebration of community, culture and kindness.
His Royal Highness signed a commemorative plaque and took a brief tour of the facilities before settling in to enjoy the children’s showcase. A spirited Kuda Kepang by Tabika Perpaduan PPR Lembah Subang 2 set the room clapping in rhythm; a modern dance by Good Samaritan Home kept the smiles wide. When the cameras rose for photographs, the faces, children, teachers, partners, guests, seemed to exhale in the same breath, gathered into one bright frame.
In Their Royal Highnesses’ presence, The Parenthood presented contributions that will carry today’s warmth into tomorrow’s work: RM5,000 each to Tabika Perpaduan PPR Lembah Subang 2 and Good Samaritan Home, and RM30,000 to Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah (YASA) as a reflection of its enduring commitment to community and care.
Play is more than fun, it’s how children find confidence, friendship, and their place in the world,” said Dato’ V. Radhakrishnan, Chairman of The Parenthood. “Ten years in, our mission hasn’t changed: open the doors, keep them safe, and let kids be kids.” He added.
Since 2015, The Parenthood has helped children unplug from technology and reconnect with active play in a clean, safe, family-friendly environment through Malaysia’s first Londonthemed indoor playground.
That promise travels beyond the turnstiles. Through ongoing CSR initiatives, The Parenthood has supported communities with school supplies and furniture to improve learning spaces, and even contributed RM1,000 per class in selected initiatives, because play lands deeper when a child has both the room to run and the tools to learn.
As The Parenthood celebrates A Decade of Joy, it looks ahead with the same clarity that carried it here. With eight outlets operating across Peninsular Malaysia, the brand is preparing to expand into East Malaysia with four new outlets, bringing the spirit of play to even more families nationwide. The promise is simple and it holds: keep the doors safe and open, welcome every child, and let joy do what it does best. Build confidence, friendships and futures that last.
