Edges out Anderson Thunderbolts to stay 3 points of SSTMI Thunderbolts

KUALA LUMPUR (5 JULY 2019): AHP-MSSP Thunderbolts edged out Anderson Thunderbolts 1-0 at Wisma Belia yesterday to stay in the hunt for the Malaysian Junior Hockey League (MJHL) 2019 title.

Mohamad Hazim Mohd Ahir’s solitary goal through a penalty corner conversion in the 11th minute was enough for ASP-MSSP to keep pace with table toppers, SSTMI Thunderbolts.
SSTMI again showed that it was head and shoulders above the rest when it went on a record breaking goal scoring spree, thrashing BJSS Jr 2022, 14-1 at SSTMI.

Captain, Muhammad Amirul Hamizan Azhar led the way, opening the scoring as early as the first minute through a penalty corner, eventually ending up with four goals.

Mohamad Shamir Rizmi Mohd Shamsul was the next best performer with a hattrick with BJSS Jr’s consolation goal scored by Mohd Danial Ikmal Mohd Yisnizam in the 18th minute.

SSTMI are now sitting pretty at the top with 21 points and a +40 goal difference followed by AHP-MSSP with 18 points but having played a game less. They still have a lot of catching up to do as they currently have a +16 goal difference.

Following suit are BJSS Thunderbolts in third after edging out SSMS Resilient, 2-1 with the winning goal contributed by Muhd Adam Daniel Ferozs, five minutes from time.
