October 26, 2016KUALA LUMPUR (25 OCTOBER, 2016): ShekhinahPR, a renowned sports public relations agency, added another feather to its cap when the company was honoured with the gold award in the Corporate Social Responsibility category for its excellent work in the ‘One Goal’ project at the Malaysia PR Awards (MPRA) 2015/16.
It is the second award the agency has received despite being new in the PR business after winning a bronze medal for the ‘Best Engagement for a Targeted Community’ category at the PR Awards 2015 South-East Asia organised by Marketing Magazine in Singapore last year.
The ninth edition of the MPRA, hosted by the Public Relations Consultants’ Association of Malaysia (PRCA), was held in Bangsar South City last week.
The MPRA is the premier showcase for the best that public relations have to offer by celebrating the winning work via their annual awards dinner.
ShekhinahPR founder and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Raj, expressed his gratitude and overwhelming joy upon winning this award as he believes it underlines another significant accomplishment for the agency.
“We are grateful to have won this award as it reflects the hard work and long hours my staff and I have sacrificed and I am sure this will inspire us to work even harder to achieve more in the coming years,’’ said Christopher.
“My staff and I would very much like to thank the Malaysian PR Awards committee, especially the judges, for selecting our entry as one of the finalists and then rewarding us with gold. Also, our deep appreciation to the Asian Football Confederation and partners World Vision, Royal DSM, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Asian Football Development Project (AFDP) and Football Association Malaysia (FAM) for giving us the opportunity to carry out this meaningful and colossal project,” he added.
The ‘One Goal Campaign’ is an important programme that tackles child malnutrition in Asia. Founded on the three pillars – nutrition, sports and healthy lifestyles – the campaign aims to leverage the power of and the passion for football in the region to tackle the poor nutritional practices and to ensure that children across Asia ‘Eat, Play, Live Right’.
The campaign has received tremendous support in Malaysia and Singapore, including from Stoke City FC who displayed the ‘One Goal’ logo on their match shirts during the 2015 Barclays Asia Trophy tournament in Singapore.
‘One Goal Campaign’ earned total media coverage to the value of RM 13 million.
